REMOVAL OF ARCHIVAL PREAMP TURNOVER
The Rek-O-Kut Archival Preamp provides for a "FLAT" playback EQ for 78 rpm records and many pre-1950 transcriptions. The cutter head turnover, however, is compensated for. It is set for 500 Hz turnover which is the most common. The following is of no concern if you are using the Rek-O-Kut Archival Preamp for listening or restoring most recordings. It is only for those who need a non-phono preamp, such as a microphone preamp, for use with record compensation computer software.
Some customers wish to use computer software to provide all playback compensation. That requires a totally FLAT preamp, not one made for listening. Such is basically a microphone preamp. If you wish to use the Rek-O-Kut Archival Preamp with such software, we advise you assemble the following circuit and insert it between the preamp output and your sound card.
